Enjoy some classic granola that goes along with yogurt, fruits, or just by itself as a snack.
Ingredients:
3 cups rolled oats (not instant)
3 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup small-dice dried fruit (raisins, craisins, etc.)
1/2 cup chopped raw or toasted nuts or seeds (my
standard is pecans and almonds, but if I have seeds,
I’ll add too!)
Steps:
Preheat oven to 300 o F
Mix together all the dry ingredients in a large ish
bowl (oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt)
In a separate container, mix the wet ingredients
(honey, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract)
Add the wet ingredients into the large bowl of dry
ingredients
Mix together with hands or spatula to make sure it’s
mixed evenly
Get a metal sheet and lay out the granola so it’s
evenly distributed (or best of ability)
Place in oven for 10 minutes
Then open the oven and stir the granola on the sheet to make sure all sides of the granola are being
cooked evenly
Repeat in 5-10 min increments
Remove once the granola is golden
Let it cool (about 5 minutes)
Use a spatula to scrape and separate the granola
Then add the fruits and nuts and stir it around
Store in a air tight container
